The original manga was a hit series serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. Grace Field House is an orphanage where parentless children live. Though not blood-related, Isabella, whom the children call "Mom," and her 38 siblings spend their days happily together. But one day, the three eldest children — Emma, Norman, and Ray — witness a horrifying truth: a younger sister who was supposedly sent off for adoption was actually "shipped" to something outside the orphanage. Upon learning that Grace Field House is in truth a facility that raises children to be sold off, the three plot to escape with all their surviving siblings. The story follows the children as they use every ounce of their wits to slip past Isabella's watchful eye and make their escape within a limited window of time.
